Veterans - Many in Need of Housing
HUD homelessness data for the year 2020 states that on a single night in January 2020, there were 37,252 veterans experiencing homelessness in the U.S. These 37,252 homeless veterans represent a one percent increase over 2019 numbers, as well as eight percent of the total number of homeless in the U.S. That means that 37,252 Veterans who’ve sacrificed their well-being and served us proudly are experiencing sustained or ongoing homelessness. There are over 4.7 million veterans with a service-related disability, and thousands of veterans struggle with PTSD and addiction.
